The Summit of Finca Montezuma
On our final morning in Tatama Jaime and I were determined to make our way up the mountain with a head start several hours early into the morning before dawn. With almost no stops we made it just before the sun began to rise and the skies were still dark blue close to 6:00am and we were able to enjoy the views as the sun began to light everything up. It's an understatement to say it was a little cold so high up in elevation but very easy to over come the morning chill even in a very light jacket.
After a little while walking around and exploring a little on top of the summit we decided it was time to start heading down and be on our way back to Pereira. I was a little disappointed in knowing that this trip couldn't be extended a little longer but I had to catch a flight and it was not an option missing that flight even though I had contemplated not leaving at one point.
We did manage to see quite a handful of unique flora and critters on the way down that were quite interesting and the highlight was an anteater that made Jaime's eyes budge out and made him sprint faster than me hearing there's pizza in the next room -which means he literally took off.
Unfortunately I wasn't able to get a decent photo of the anteater but I did manage to take a dodgy little video from my cell phone and that ended up being all what I had to work with but non the less the experience was worth more than a 1000 pictures.

A nice species of moss that has developed a red pigmentation from the heavy exposure to sunlight which is common on heavily exposed spots such as on tree branches or landscape slopes and rocks in higher elevation zones
